Kernel page fault panic for the second time in two days. Yesterday morning the machine was halted when I came in, and it was again this morning. If anyone can help me figure out why this is happening, I'd appreciate it. This second panic was while running fetch, but I don't think I was running fetch yesterday, so fetch isn't the underlying problem. # uname -a FreeBSD cobble.capnet.state.tx.us 4.6.2-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 4.6.2-RELEASE-p2 #6: Mon Sep 23 12:10:10 CDT 2002 root@cobble.capnet.state.tx.us:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/COBBLE i386 I don't remember seeing any deltas in 4_6 since I built this a week ago monday. I did cvsup on 4_6, then a full build world/kernel. There don't seem to be any core files or additional logging. Nothing in /var/log/messages nor dmesg. I don't know what the panic messages mean. The following was what was on the screen this morning (ScrollLock was functioning, so I could see all of it): ***** begin ***** Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x1ad880c0 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc02286d3 stack pointer = 0x10:0xcc9ecc5c frame pointer = 0x10:0xcc9ecc7c code segment = 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 549 (fetch) interrupt mask = trap number = 12 panic: page fault syncing disks...
