Hmm. This might have happened if you had no links there at all when doing
the installworld - the following patch should correct it.
Index: Makefile
===================================================================
RCS file: /home/ncvs/src/secure/lib/libcrypt/Makefile,v
retrieving revision 1.26
diff -u -r1.26 Makefile
--- Makefile 2000/02/29 05:47:52 1.26

# We only install the links if they do not already exist.
# This may have to be revised
-.if !exists(${DESTDIR}${LIBDIR}/${LCRYPTBASE}.a)
+.if !exists(${DESTDIR}${LIBDIR}/${LCRYPTBASE}.a) && !defined(NODESCRYPTLINKS)
SYMLINKS+= ${LSCRYPTBASE}.a ${LIBDIR}/${LCRYPTBASE}.a
.endif
.if !defined(NOPROFILE) && !exists(${DESTDIR}${LIBDIR}/${LCRYPTBASE}_p.a)
but the next time you run make installworld it would repoint them
anyway. I thought I'd tested the case of having no links, but perhaps I
didn't - I'll check some more and commit the above if necessary.
