I have the following in my /etc/rc.local so that on my Dell Latitude
D800 if I have a USB mouse plugged in, it is the only mouse, and if I
don't, the touchpad and stick are both active:
if ! ps -ax | grep '[m]oused.*ums' >/dev/null; then
/usr/sbin/moused -p /dev/psm0 -t auto -a 2,2 -3 -m 1=4
fi
HTH,
Doug
