It seems, something funny happened when I did the update on 18/01/2019 and installing and deinstalling the nVidia driver fixed it. Presumably, instal= ling the nVidia driver installed something or changed some setting which persist= ed even after the nVidia driver was deinstalled. Is this a clue to what was g= oing on? Unfortunately, without being able to recreate the problem, there doesn't se= em to be any way to determine what caused it. To answer your question, it probably isn't an issue any more.
