Would it be better to refer users to the release notes for major versions,
instead of deleting the page?

They typically include all the bigger changes, and it also means not having=
 to
keep track of newer changes separately.

For the -CURRENT branch, we can direct users to look at src/RELNOTES and a =
cgit
log query like this:
https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/log/?showmsg=3D1&qt=3Dgrep&q=3DRelnotes
