If there isn't, then there should be, if only to try and stem the
creeping malaise that is Microsoft from imposing it's "standards" on us
all. One of the problems though is the definition of "basic standards",
indeed standards in general.

The phrase that springs to mind here is - "Well-marketed mediocrity will
triumph over technical excellence every time", as Windows proves!
