Could this bug please be fixed? It would appear to take all of a couple of minutes. It pertains to setting SCSI_NCR_DFLT_SYNC to a lower value to ensure that LVD drives can run full tilt when possible. The fix is: - extremely simple - illustrated in the bug report - has been suggested several times in response to complaints - well-tested (no one has ever reported problems) It gets tiring having to stick it back into the kernel build for each new release, and more importantly penalizes an unknown number of people who never realize they are losing performance, or simply assume FreeBSD is "slower". It does make a difference. If on the other hand there is a subtle good reason not to do this, I suggest it be documented in the bug report and source, while updating the Handbook's configuration section. Thought I would ask informally first instead of filing a PR. Thanks! --Ken To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
