Actually, BIND 4 and BIND 8 were different versions of the same code base from two different vendors (Vixie and ISC). Meanwhile, nobody involved in this discussion except Doug, Tom and myself has any idea how much work is actually involved in this, so can we please keep the bikeshedding to a minimum?
