Hi guys. I have a Thinkpad r50e with a PRO/Wireless 2200BG WLAN nic - iwi device. When I set it up in rc.conf to be called wlan0 instead of iwi0 : ifconfig_fxp0_name="lan0" # Change interface name from fxp0 to net0. ifconfig_lan0=dhcp ifconfig_iwi0_name="wlan0" ifconfig_wlan0="inet 12.23.34.45 netmask 255.255.255.0 ssid MY_SSID" and then create /etc/start_if_wlan0 : iwicontrol wlan0 -d /usr/local/libdata/if_iwi -m bss iwicontrol -i wlan0 -r ifconfig wlan0 up The file does not seem to be used. When I rename it to start_if_iwi0 it is not used either. I need to manually run the lines from it. lan0 is brought up fine with dhcp. Cheers, Marcin Jessa.
