While have rarely seen swapping take place under normal situations (GIMP, as I mentioned, will swap), it was a bit nerve-wracking to see free memory dropping somewhat low w/out any swap space. On the other hand, I did note that garbage collection is much more aggressive when you don't have any swap space!
