>Release: FreeBSD 4.6-PRERELEASE i386
>Organization:
>Environment:
System: FreeBSD archive.toscano.org 4.5-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE #0: Mon Jan 28 14:31:56 GMT 2002 murray@builder.freebsdmall.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC i386

Homebrewed x86 system. Currently running 4.6-PRERELEASE.
Abit BE6-II motherboard with 12/01 BIOS. 384M RAM.
Trident 8M AGP video card. Cheap NIC (dc0). Promise
FastTrak 100 Ultra ATA/100 RAID card. 4x30G IDE drives
attached to the FastTrak card. No IDE devices attached to
the on-board IDE interfaces. The FastTrak is mostly being
used as an ATA/100 card, but in order for the system to
boot off the primary master drive on the card, I have to
	define a one-disk striped volume. The 4.5-RELEASE
GENERIC kernel sees this striped volume as ar0 and the
	drives as ad4 - ad7.
>Description:
I'm tracking RELENG_4 with cvsup. On my current machine,
I installed 4.5-RELEASE and upgraded with cvsup. The last
time I did an update was maybe two or three days ago. I did
a buildworld, installworld, buildkernel, and installkernel.
No problems. When I boot to the new 4.6-PRERELEASE kernel,
the kernel does not detect the ar0 or ad4 devices and, since
the root parition is on that device (ad4s1a), the system
cannot boot. If I boot to the loader, unload the new
kernel and load the 4.5-GENERIC kernel, everything works.
>How-To-Repeat:
Boot the 4.6-PRERELEASE kernel built using the GENERIC
	config.
>Fix:
No fix yet. Just boot into the 4.5-RELEASE kernel.
