I joined this site to ask how to edit /boot/loader.conf directly or via set command, /boot/defaults..., loader.rc, etc. As I understand the acpi technology is new and any number of failures are possible as kernel development continues to evolve to include more variant motherboards benefiting from user-shared experiences. I've spent months experimenting with various linux distros and have used web searches to supplement man pages and books rather successfully. But here I can't land on a solution. As this failure for me occurs before the install and live cd dialogue, I eventually figured out how to mute errors and launch live cd to get to command prompt. Please provide me some guidance because vi prohibits updates even after ! write and set ..vty= generates yet another error preventing edits. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.help
