OK, well, the only stuff I have done to setup the sound is
adding these lines to the kernel config

# sound support
device pcm0 at isa? port 0x52C irq 5 drq 1 flags 0x10

and

> cat /dev/sndstat
FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Aug 13 2000 20:29:32
Installed devices:
pcm0: <CS461x PCM Audio> at irq 11 (1p/1r channels duplex)

I what settings do you think I should twiddle with?
