I thought anything other than a 'shutdown' was liable to damage the filesystem ? Is c-a-d setup in someway to be a synonm for a quiet shutdown [doesn't seem very likely] (I appreciate I don't have a lot of choice :-( This seems like an area of ambiguity to me. Plenty of people seem to run *nix boxes without UPS's which would seem to indicate that just taking the power off the box can't be _so_ disasterous. Comments ? However I don't think we have the same cause.
