It works ! Thanks a lot.

Well so far I have just patched and re-compiled the GENERIC kernel but
soon (tonight for example) I will install the whole stuff. I have an
additional sound card (Game Surrond Fortissimo II) installed so I don't
use the built-in sound card. Anyway, I will enable it in the bios and try
and use it under FreeBSD to let you know how it works. BTW, I could
definitively change for the built-in sound card as I have some problem
with the mixer from the fortissimo (CS2664 if I remember). Indeed the
sound card has a lot of outputs, and there are some that I can play any
sound through (including the headphones which is quite annoying). But
maybe it is just some mistake of mine as I am not very proficient with
sound tuning under BSD.

I feel so happy I won't have to install any RedHat stuff (as Linux was the
only OS except Windows that booted on my new box). Thanks again.

Regards

Herve
