>Release: FreeBSD 2.2.5-RELEASE i386
>Environment:
Adaptec 1542C SCSI-Controller
SCSI-Tape "HP HP35480A 1109" type 1 removable SCSI 2
>Description:
The SCSI-Tape caused the SCSI-Controller to freeze
if sync-negotiation for this device is not disabled.
After reboot and fsck I lost all the files touched
in the last 30 minutes. All these files have been
closed for at least 10 minute. on a syncornus mounted
ufs file-system. 2 other partitions on the
same disk are asyncronously mounted without any
inconsitency on them (e.G. /tmp ).
>How-To-Repeat:
This Problem is reproduceable, even if i press reset
on an idle machine.
>Fix:
workaround:
add folowing line in /etc/crontab
* * * * * root /bin/sync
