I've been having problems getting freebsd 4.1 recognizing my sound card. The card is: Creative Vibra 128 PCI (compatible with Sound Blaster PCI) Chips: CT5880-DCQ and CT4810 Product code: CLVIBPCI128 In the config file for the kernel I have enabled pcm: # Sound card support device pcm # for sound card #device sbc # for Creative Sound Blaster but the dmesg for the pcm device says: pcm0: <AudioPCI ES1371> at device 9.0 on pci2 pcm0: unable to map register space device_probe_and_attach: pcm0 attach returned 6 Doing sh MAKEDEV /dev/snd0 after it has booted (with that dmesg) appears to run without any errors, but cat /dev/sndstat reports cat: sndstat: Device not configured (Which isn't that surprising considering the dmesg errors) Has anyone had any luck getting this sound working? Have I done something obviously wrong? Thanks Geoff Crompton To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
