During the install of FBSD 4.6 from floppy the system will hang after plip0 <network ... > on ppbus0. The num lock works but nothing else will. (I can't ctrl alt del) FreeBSD 3.5.1 will install. 5.0 will not. I have changed network cards. Replaced the SCSI controler with IDE. Changed PNP OS to YES. Disabled onboard SCSI. None worked. I also disabled everything but things like keyboard and console in kernel config. It still hung but this time after probing system console. Linux does work on the system.

Get an ASUS P2B-DS. Problem repeats on other system with same motherboard.
