Actually, I was too optimistic in my reporting. The new driver worked for me just once -- until reboot. After that, I couldn't get the touchpad working again. After usual dmesg lines, any movement on touchpad produces endless repeating of this message: kernel: iichid0: no data received and no effect on cursor. Scroll down for more bad info.
