I don't think there are anybody but Eric Raymond that know what that term meant. I didn't, at least. From context, it looked like it was Verylarge Companies or something like it. (I don't think it could have meant 'Version Control'. But the sentence is interesting if read that way :-) It isn't in my dictionaries, either. BTW: I think the reason you didn't get any reply from Eric S Raymond was that you didn't keep him Cc:'ed, but sent it only to -chat. He's not on -chat (and relying on a mailing list reaching somebody is usually not a good idea - many of us read mailing lists much less carefully than we read our personal mail.) Eivind.
