Hi, I am brand new to both Unix and FreeBSD (made my first FreeBSD installation a week ago). Nevertheless, I would like to write documentation on "How to make FreeBSD and Windows share swap space". Either as a new section in the Handbook or as a freestanding Article on freebsd.org. In the Handbook, it might fit nicely after section 6.11 "Adding Swap Space". What do you think? Could such an article or Handbook section be a good contribution to the documentation project? Or is it a stupid idea, which I shouldn't waste my time with? At linuxdoc.org, I found 2 separate documents on sharing swap space between Linux and Windows. But those documents don't apply well to FreeBSD, since Linux (1) uses the mkswap command and (2) seems to have trouble using files as swap. Please post your comments. Good idea or stupid idea? If good idea, as freestanding article or Handbook section? If you think my proposal is worthy, I'll write a draft and submit it to this mailing list (I don't have a website or FTP site) for your comments and criticism. I hope to hear from you soon.
