 If I am reading the source code for timed.c correctly, the -F flag is
 indeed meant for listing trusted hosts. Also, if no trusted hosts are
 defined via the F flag, timed will apparently set the local machine's
 hostname as trusted.
 
 I will investigate this more thoroughly when I get back from work
 tommorow, and I will see what I can do about the organizational issues
 that you mentioned
