I have not succeeded to setup vlan bridging even with 4.6. Looking in source code : if_vlan.c : [...] case SIOCSIFFLAGS: /* * We don't support promiscuous mode * right now because it would require help from the * underlying drivers, which hasn't been implemented. */ if (ifr->ifr_flags & (IFF_PROMISC)) { ifp->if_flags &= ~(IFF_PROMISC); error = EINVAL; } break; [...] In if_ethersubr.c ether_demux() it's easy to see that vlan packets with unicast mac addresses different of parent mac would be dropped. for freebsd 4.4 I have wrote small patch to allow promisc mode on vlan interfaces and bridgiing of vlan interfaces. If you are interested I will renew it for 4.6. regards, misho ----- Original Message ----- From: "Luigi Rizzo" <rizzo@icir.org> To: <steve@pipenetworks.com> Cc: <freebsd-net@FreeBSD.ORG> Sent: Sunday, June 16, 2002 4:08 PM Subject: Re: Netgraph bridging vlans > On Sun, Jun 16, 2002 at 07:14:14PM +1000, steve@pipenetworks.com wrote: > > > > Hello, > > > > I have been working with Netgrpah in bridging vlans using the vtun > > package.
