This is possible, and it would be great to have a REAL
PROM for booting, software installation, and the like.

Flash chips on an ISA card, somehow programmable, PC-Card...

It seems that some kind of merge of biosboot and netboot (is
netboot current?) with some expansion, is the basis for a
PROM.
