So I'll stop passing on this information, I'll try it again. Last time I used ISC-dhclient, it did infact REQUIRE a configuration file. Now a zero length file might of done the trick.. but it bitched about a non-existent file. and would not fetch an IP address for me when I ran it. So maybe it is a documentation over-site. Maybe now it says "configuration file not found, using built-in defaults".
