https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D256603 Bug ID: 256603 Summary: FreeBSD 13.0 release version booting into single user mode by default when the OS disk behind smartpqi controller. Product: Base System Version: Unspecified Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: papani.srikanth@microchip.com Hi, The tyan server has 7 drives which is behind the smartpqi controller.=20 We've installed the FreeBSD 13.0 on one of the drive which is behind the smartpqi controller (drive number is da5). After successful OS installation, we created RAID5 with 3 disk( Used da0, d= a1, da2 for RAID5) and we did the power cycle after that the system went to sin= gle user mode. Usually in the FreeBSD 12.2, it will ask the user to mount the OS disk manu= ally in case if the drive order changes but in FreeBSD 13.0 directly it's going = to single user and it's not allowing to mount the disk. In both cases the SmartPQI driver and Firmware is same but seeing weird behavior from the OS. Here what is the difference between 12.2 and 13.0 when it fails to mount th= e OS drive during boot? --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
