> The default configuration in /usr/local/etc/sane.d/epson.conf assumes a > SCSI scanner. You need to edit this to specify USB (I think the USB > entry is commented in the file installed by default). I found this out the hard way. Aside from the kernel hacks mentioned previously, you must edit epson.conf because command-line arguments cannot override what's in epson.conf (i.e. they can't tell the driver to use USB rather than SCSI).
