Actually I should revise that.  You should now not install the new binaries
until you have built and installed a new kernel, which doesn't work because you
suppose I have something other than Version 2.10 of 'as'.  Correct?  

Right or wrong I have the version that was comitted to 4.0-RELEASE.  I'll look
tonight to be sure.
