Hi all, The problem was that I had stripped my kernel. (My root partition is currently at 99%). I installed an unstripped kernel and have been able to run top and dmesg fine. The following error message was lost in the boot messages: kvm_mkdb: /kernel: stripped: Inappropriate file type or format In my experimenting with stripped kernels, I was able to get one to run top and dmesg, but can't reproduce that at the moment. I'll keep playing around and see if I can do it again. Thanks for the help, Michael To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
