Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email titled 'END INCLUDED FOOTER'. Optus welcomes your feedback and
the opportunity to address your concerns. 

Please be assured that Optus takes complaints regarding Internet abuse
seriously and your concerns have been forwarded to the OptusNet Abuse Team
for their immediate attention. The OptusNet Abuse Team will attempt to
identify the source of the spam and take appropriate steps to prevent this
type of action in the future. As Optus is prohibited by the Privacy Act from
disclosing information pertaining to a customer's identity and/or account
details, we will not be able to provide you with information relating to the
outcome of our investigation or the identity of the sender of the Spam. 

Please note that in compliance with the Internet Industry Association's Code
of Practice Optus has taken the following steps to minimise spamming of and
by OptusNet users:

* Spamming by OptusNet users is prohibited in our Acceptable Use Policy and
Terms and Conditions of Use (found at http://www.optusnet.com.au).
Following complaints we investigate whether the spammer is another OptusNet
user and, if so, take up the matter with that user to prevent the conduct
re-occurring.
* We have installed relay protection mechanisms to prevent spammers from
using the relay to evade detection.  

Optus also recommends that all users utilise email filtering and content
filtering software, children use the OptusNet Internet connection should
also be accompanied by an adult. For more information about approved filter
