My most recent CVSup was yesterday at about 1900 GMT. Apparently > someone else is having the same problem I am and I have reproduced it using the > "old" and "new-binutils-friendly" methods... The only difference between your effort on mine is I cvsup'ed 24 hours later than you did. I have also been following -stable since they started the massive changes on 7/7. I was one of the first people bit by the bioscall.s thing and Warner added the bit about buildkernel. Less than 15 minutes later, I was running a system based on O'Brien's modified /binutils. Since I was one of the first, it was said kindly. The kindness in the responses is developing an edge because of what seems like 100's of people not paying attention or doing any research and continue using the old way. There have been a lot of stuff changed in /etc that mergemaster has to take care of. I have been fighting getting email that FreeBSD.org will buy for several days on a new ISP and the cvs-committs are scattered over three systems and two emailers. I don't know what changed but my 3 hour old cvsup worked. I always thought Murphy picked on me. I have been doing the buildkernel religiously since 7/7 and perhaps, for a change, he passed it around :). I have 3 machines that I am using to follow stable's transition to 4.1. Only one goes down if there are problems. You won't see "as -v" = 2.10.0 unless you have done an installworld. That is probably why you are getting the message.
