A workaround is to not build lang/gcc5 at all, which is only necessary for a system that /usr/bin/cc is gcc 4.2.1 and needs >= gcc 4.9 to build lang/gcc6 which cannot USE_GCC itself and therefore tries to bring in lang/gcc5...
