I've seen the same thing with 2.2 SNAPs on at least three different snaps
in the last month.  It isn't a change in format, because I did a fresh
install of 2.2-980309-SNAP today, rebooted, worked fine, rebooted off the
boot floppy, selected update, and the slice (dos-style partitions) was
there, but the FreeBSD partitions (/, swap, /var, /usr) weren't there.
