In ANSI C, the macro major() doesn't conflict with the local variable `major'. nfs_serv.c has local variables named major and minor, but there is no problem (except for K&R compilers) since it doesn't use major() or minor(). Applications that #define `dev', `x' or `y' before including <sys/types.h> are also broken.
