Just a +1 for this.

Upgraded from kernel 12.2-RELEASE-p7 to 12.2-RELEASE-p12 with freebsd-updat=
e on
several systems both amd64 and i386.  Some of the i386 systems now panic un=
der
disk load (backups!).  These are otherwise very lightly loaded web servers =
or
firewalls.

Is this related to Bug 261338 ?
