Dear all, Some time ago I tried to install FreeBSD but failed to do so. It did not recognize the free space om my hard disk (reduced the size of the DOS primary partition using PartitionMagic leaving 900 MB of free space). I thought it was because one of my logical drives in the DOS extended partition was FAT32. However, I also used PartitionMagic to convert my FAT32 into FAT16 and tried again to install FreeBSD. Same result! My PC has a Promise Technology Inc. ULTRA33 IDE controller. Could this be the cause of the problems ? I know for sure that it prevents me from installing Linux (confirmed by Red Hat and Promise Technology). Regards, Joris.
