Correct assumption.

It isn't a bug in gated I think since the packet stream gets initialised by
kicking it into promiscuous mode like ye said. This is a driver problem.

I do remember a thread about a likewise problem, but cannot for the gods
remember which forum it was. Try a search of questions and net with
promiscuous mode as the search key. I'll try and see what I can find myself.
