I don't know that that's really necessary. This list gets about 3 or 4 messages a day, on a really busy day. People who ask (politely) about the project status usually get a reasonable answer (go check the URL, etc.) and are told to subscribe for further updates. Also, I think changing the configuration of the mailing list might require more administrative action than some people involved in the FBSD/ppc project could muster.
