It seems my DNS is hosed, these are my symptoms:
* when I try to telnet to my freebsd box, it stalls for a few minutes
before returning the login prompt
* mountd also stalls for a long time during startup
* from the freebsd box, I can't ping hostnames like "localhost" for
example which I can only reach using the IP "127.0.0.1"
* from the freebsd box, I can ping domain names like "freebsd.org" though,
the problem seems to be just locally.

My network is composed of a server (also running freebsd) acting as a
default gateway for my problem box, basically, a very simple two box
network. On my problem freebsd box, here are a few of my config files:

resolv.conf:
domain b0x.com
nameserver 198.168.100.3
search b0x.com

hosts:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.0.1 gate.b0x.com gate
192.168.0.2 fbsd.b0x.com fbsd

mygate:
192.168.0.1

myname:
fbsd.b0x.com

Everything looks fine to me, but I really can't figure out what's the
problem and I'd appreciate if someone could point me in the right
direction.

Thanks in advance,
Marc
