how about also adding something like:
if ( -x /usr/sbin/ispcvt ) then
if { /usr/sbin/ispcvt } then
setenv TERM vt220
endif
endif
this way you'll automatically get the right TERM if you are using syscons _or_
pcvt - just an idea - for me it works very nice
