Well, it seems that we've been going in parallel paths; I've written a Python script to do essentially the same thing, 'cept that it will go ahead and build/install the necessary ports as well. The only thing is, making a port will install over an older version, yet the pkg stuff for the old version remains in /var/db/pkg/.
