I recently cvsup'ed from 3.2-stable to 3.3-RC. During the process I ended up with an incomplete set of /dev's. I had ttyv0-3 and when I rebooted, I ended up with a screen filled with Sep 6 15:04:14 ruby getty[256]: open /dev/ttyv4: No such file or directory Sep 6 15:04:14 ruby getty[257]: open /dev/ttyv5: No such file or directory Sep 6 15:04:14 ruby getty[258]: open /dev/ttyv6: No such file or directory Sep 6 15:04:14 ruby getty[259]: open /dev/ttyv7: No such file or directory I had combined the old and new with Mergemaster-1.25. A simple fix was a MAKDEV all. -- Kent Stewart Richland, WA mailto:kstewart@3-cities.com http://www.3-cities.com/~kstewart/index.html SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) @ Home http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
