[-- Attachment #1 --] Perhaps you could help me in getting my copy of FreeBsd installed so that it's useable for me. I've read everything I think is relevant. I'm a newbie and I have to admit I don't fully understand everything. I've been trying to install on a second hard disk. The first has Windows on it. When using the graphic sysinstall, I simply push "Q" for the first hard disk (ad0), and choose the first loader option, that is, to install the boot loader. For the second disk I hit on "A" to use the whole disk, then "S" to make it active, then choose the third option (None) for the boot loader, thinking that the boot loader wouldn't be on that disk. When I reboot nothing happens, even though all the files seem to install. I don't get to see the choice which is mentioned in the docs concerning disk compatibility. When I reboot, I just get a normal Windows reboot. Using other choices in the partitioning section, I've gotten into a situation where there is a bootup message to the effect that it can't find HDD, or something like that. Had to reset BIOS and then reload Windows to be able to use the computer. The version I'm trying to install is 4.4. Would appreciate any help, or source of help. I've probably tried to install a couple of dozen times already. With thanks in advance, Jim Gansle [-- Attachment #2 --] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.2600.0" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><EM><FONT face=Verdana size=4>Perhaps you could help me in getting my copy of FreeBsd installed so that it's useable for me.
