	runs well unders FreeBSD-2.2.2 (the only version that i have 
	used with Mathematica 3.0).  you need to brandelf(1) all
	the statically linked binaries.  the install program will *not*
	do this for you.  Mathematica 3.0 uses sparse files, so use the
	"-S" or "--sparse" option when tar'ing Mathematica notebooks.
