Please try the new patch I just submitted for the cdrecord port in the
ports tree.  (the new patch file is patches/patch-ab)
I believe it should fix your problem.  (it does for me)
I forgot about fixing cdrecord...

I did the kernel changes, and I just fixed cdrecord to work with them.
