[-- Attachment #1 --] Hello everybody, I just built a FreeBSD 4.1 gateway system based on a 486 66, 8mb, 850 Mb harddisk system. It works perfectly, and for me it was intended to let it run day and night so I never thought about what when turning it off then. So my question is, is it harmful to turn it of without using any commands, for example when it just booted and is showing the login prompt (which is enough for the gateway services i installed anyway). Thanks for any replies, Pascal Willemssen [-- Attachment #2 --] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4207.2601" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hello everybody,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I just built a FreeBSD 4.1 gateway system based on a 486 66, 8mb, 850 Mb harddisk system.
