Don't ask me why or how, but now the machine appears to come up okay with the Comparex D1400/Hitachi DF400 attached to both Adaptec 2940U2W controllers. But now I'm back to the point where it leaks 240VAC, which makes it rather unpleasant to do things like it was supposedly designed to do, such as plugging additional hosts in while the drive array is powered on and online, although the new host(s) presumably would be turned off. Anybody got a spare rubber chicken they can loan me? I seem to have left mine back in the US.
