BSD will run linux apps just fine, in fact, some say BSD runs
Linux 
apps better or faster than Linux itself. I am running a couple
Linux 
apps on my FBSD system because they are not available in a BSD
port or 
package. I've none of them, or any BSD app, ever crash on me.
