Subject: 5.0-release ahc0 boot time-out on SMP kernel
Message-ID: <004d01c2c1cc$f3067110$0600a8c0@TP600X>

GENERIC and my customized non-SMP kernel (named KERN) work fine. With added

options SMP # Symmetric MultiProcessor Kernel
    options APIC_IO # Symmetric (APIC) I/O

in SMP-KERN, ahc0 experienced timeout and dumped messages before later
successfully probed all SCSI disks. This is an on-board AIC-7880 on a dual
PentiumPro200 with four 4G hard disks. The operation after boot seems fine.
The same machine also boots 4.7-stable with/without SMP, linux 2.4.18 with
SMP and Windows 2000 perfectly.

dmesg follows. Any idea?

Thanks,

-Brian Zhou
