Dear list, it took me while to figure out that seemingly hanging 'pkg update' are working flawless when called as 'pkg -4 update' - it seems that pkg.freebsd.org is=C2=A0 not (always?) reachable via it's IPv6 address... is this a known problem ? Example pings: --- C U T --- $ ping pkg.freebsd.org PING pkg.freebsd.org (213.138.116.73): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 213.138.116.73: icmp_seq=3D0 ttl=3D55 time=3D47.081 ms 64 bytes from 213.138.116.73: icmp_seq=3D1 ttl=3D55 time=3D51.551 ms ^C --- pkg.freebsd.org ping statistics --- 2 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev =3D 47.081/49.316/51.551/2.235 ms $ ping6 pkg.freebsd.org PING6(56=3D40+8+8 bytes) 2003:c3:4f46:d278:e54:15ff:fe22:27b1 --> 2001:41c8:112:8300::50:1 ^C --- pkgmir.geo.freebsd.org ping6 statistics --- 9 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss --- C U T --- Best Henry
